The Mu Sigma Phi Sorority takes pride in its members who have excelled in their own fields and made a mark in Philippine medical history.
Excellence, Knowledge, Genius (EKG) was held last Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Buenafe Auditorium, Calderon Hall, UP College of Medicine as part of Mu Sigma Phi Sorority's Scholarship Week. Prof. Janice Ng, Prof. Jerome Ong, Prof. Laufred Hernandez, and Prof. Jen-jen Manuel served as judges for the quiz show.
Twenty three teams from different schools such as Adamson University, Ateneo De Manila University, De La Salle University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Far Eastern University, and Our Lady of Fatima University-Valenzuela pitted against each other. There were also participants from UP Los Banos, and UP Diliman as well as teams from the College of Public Health, College of Arts and Sciences, and UP College of Medicine - Intarmed of UP Manila.
It was a sunny Tuesday morning when the Mu Sigma Phi sisters went to the Fabella Day Care Center. The sorority put together a mini-library of storybooks for the children of the day care center. Sis Ria Imperial µΣΦ 2018 hosted the program. The program began with a solemn and meaningful prayer from Sis Eka Dy µΣΦ 2018. Most Exalted Sister Sis Reg Naval µΣΦ 2015 then gave a short but inspiring opening message. After which, Sis Ances Mulles µΣΦ 2018 narrated the exciting story of Kapitan Bumbahi to the eager school children.
In celebration of Scholarship Week 2015, the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority held an interactive career forum entitled “Double Duty: A Call Outside the Clinics,” at the BSLR-East last March 17, 2015. The invited speakers were alumni and alumnae of the fraternity and sorority who shared their experiences and insights of living the dream of being doctors, while still being able to live out their other passions in life.
It was a bright and sunny midday when Scholarship Week 2015 was formally launched by the opening of the Scholarship Week Exhibit at the side stones of the UP College of Medicine. The exhibit boasted the creativity and artistry of the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority and reflected the four pillars of the Sorority and the Fraternity – Sisterhood and Brotherhood, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. With the opening of the exhibit came the unveiling of the schedule of events and activities in store for the much-awaited week.
