Last Thursday, August 25, the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority held their pioneer photography and publicity making workshop, PubMed 2016: Capturing Moments One Click at a Time. The event was formally started off with a rousing speech by Brod Earnest de la Cruz ΜΣΦ’19. The first speaker of the night was Mr. Dale Sta. Rosa, a professional photographer from Forever Framed. He enlightened and apprised the audience with the basic tips and tricks of his trade. Armed with new knowledge about photography such as leading lines and the rule of thirds, the audience got a glimpse of the view through a photographer’s eyes. To encompass the popularity of smart phones and mobile photography, the next speaker was one of Instagram fame, Mr. Carl Lozano, founder of IGers Manila. Sharing his knowledge and experience of mobile photography, the audience learned the best apps to liven up their photos and the best techniques to get the perfect shot simply using their mobile phone. The third and final speaker was Mr. DJ Fabian, a professional photographer and videographer, and founder of Substance.ph and 4AM Hustle Productions. He spoke on the importance of finding your own unique style in your art. His talk gave audience members a preview into the life of a professional photographer, along with the mindset and attitude needed to succeed in any creative venture. As a token of appreciation, the speakers were all given tumblers and certificates. Several members of the audience were also lucky enough to win prizes such as Belle de Jour planners, calligraphy kits, Chowking gift certificates and a bookbag from The Great Mu Sale. To cap the night off, Sis Danielle Concepcion μΣΦ’20 gave the closing remarks, inspiring the audience to carry on the spirit of Scholarship. AFTG!
