Class 2020 and the sisters and brothers of Mu Sigma Phi shared and inevitably enjoyed a night of remarkable fun at Mu Rock, the first and only rockeoke party at the UP College of Medicine, as they cathartically danced and sang their hearts out to the sublime tunes of the Mu Band. Indeed, Mu Rock proved to be the perfect detox for the freshmen after they’ve had the first OSCE of their med school journey, and for everyone else as they put yet another week to an end.
Thank you, Class 2020 for rocking, jamming and partying with the first, the largest and the most acclaimed medical Sorority and Fraternity not only in the Philippines, but also in Asia!
Who rocks? MU ROCKS! #MURockedAmelieHotel #MURock2015 #MuWeek2015
Fiesta at the Hut was launched by the welcoming words of sis Aca Almelor, μΣϕ ’16 and brod JP Reyes, ΜΣϕ ’18. Almost immediately, the hour of feasting began as the famished freshmen queued for lunch. The event, hosted by sis Anne Asis, μΣϕ ’19 and brod John de Castro, ΜΣϕ ’19, proved to be a favorable occasion for the freshmen to experience a glimpse of the dynamic interactions among the sisters and brothers of the Mu Sigma Phi. The sumptuous meal was capped off with the sweet, sugary goodness of ice cream and crêpes. It was an afternoon of sheer revelry, not unlike each occasion in the company of Mu Sigma Phi. All for the Glory!
Mu Week, with it’s exciting line-up of activities, was formally opened today at noon, through unveiling the steampunk-themed Mu Week Exhibit. The exhibit itself boasts Mu Sigma Phi’s genuine sisterhood and brotherhood in its steampunk-themed display, complete with moving gears and elements, and a rusty feel that signifies a bond tested through time. To reduce the dynamics of the genuine bond formed through years among the sisters and brothers of Mu Sigma Phi into an exhibit no bigger than half a kilometer is no small feat; however, the exhibit captures the essentials of true sisterhood and brotherhood nonetheless. Undeniably, true sisterhood and brotherhood can be attained only when all parts are brought together to synchronize, to work together towards a common goal, regardless of the differences among them.
Formally kick-starting our long line of activities for this year the right way, the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority celebrated the Pillar of Brotherhood and Sisterhood last night, August 20, 2015, during this year’s Sem Starter at the Amelie Hotel Rooftop Manila. Undergrads, residents and consultants alike jammed the night away with music from the MU Band and enjoyed the spirit of camaraderie found nowhere else but in MU.
All for the Glory!
On the 7th of August 2015, the Sorority and Fraternity enthusiastically welcomed the members of Class 2020 through the Freshmen Orientation Program’s Greek-themed Street Party held at Tipunan. Alas, the freshmen of 2020 did not receive the usual welcome and all its formalities; instead they had to battle each other in duels in pursuit of glory and to impress the Greek gods and goddesses. The victors bask in glory while the vanquished bow down to their opponents. Giveaways and freebies were also given during the event. As the freshmen vied for ultimate glory and the approval of the gods and goddesses, the crowd enjoyed and moved to the spectacle the Mu Band offered.
