By μΣΦ • 30 September 2018

On the evening of September 27, 2018, the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority held KaMUstahan 2018, a Grand Orientation for the women of Class 2023 at the Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila. The event was hosted by Sisses Wen Raymundo μΣΦ 1989 and Nonay Dela Calzada μΣΦ 2021. It was a night filled with merriment and sentimentality as Sisses across different batches reminisced on their fond memories together with Mu, sharing a variety of enthralling speeches to the audience. KaMUstahan 2018 was officially opened by Sis Jitka Canlas μΣΦ 2021, Senior Guardian of the Temple, who delivered her welcoming remarks to the Sisses and ladies of Class 2023.

Besides the delicious food, the highlight of the evening was the introduction of the Four Pillars of the Sorority. The first speaker of the evening was truly the embodiment of the Pillar of Leadership, Former Dean Sis Agnes Mejia μΣΦ 1977, who delivered an inspiring speech about believing in yourself and what is right. The all-time favorite Pillar of Sisterhood was then explained by three members of the "Zilver Zizzes" of Batch 1992, Sis Alnette Tan μΣΦ 1992, Sis Tech Gloria-Cruz μΣΦ 1992, and Sis Mayos Pe-Yan μΣΦ 1992, who all deviated from the serious tone and decided to showcase 30 years of sisterhood in a comedic yet memorable manner, even presenting a video of their batch greeting Class 2023 and wishing them luck in med school. The Pillar of Scholarship was then presented through the speech of Sis Fae Palabrica μΣΦ 2011, a keen and awarded researcher in the field of Infectious Diseases. Last but not the least, the Pillar of Service, the self-denying component of the Sorority, was expressed through the speech of Sis Cindy Sotalbo μΣΦ 2009, as well as heart-warming videos sent by some of the Sisses serving as Doctors to the Barrios from Batch 2017.

Drawing the program to a close, Sisses from Batch 2022 serenaded the audience with the song "Stickwit(M)u" by the Pussycat Dolls. The evening was finally capped off with closing remarks from the Most Exalted Sister Sis Max Sta. Maria μΣΦ 2019.

The Mu Sigma Phi Sorority would like to thank the women of Class 2023 and all our alumnae Sisses: Sis Filomena San Juan μΣΦ 1978, Sis Lilibeth Genuino μΣΦ 1987, Sis Joie Cañal μΣΦ 1995, Sis Karen Abalos μΣΦ 2014, Sis Kat Aligam μΣΦ 2014, Sis Tin Hernandez μΣΦ 2014, Sis Mikki Miranda μΣΦ 2016, Sis Johna Mandac μΣΦ 2018, and Sis Drea Reyes μΣΦ 2018 for sharing this memorable and enchanting evening with us!
